Ingredients

  • ½ cup (120 g) soft butter or margarine
  • ¾ cup (180 g) brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) corn syrup
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 ½ cups (900 g) uncooked oats
  • 1 cup (240 g) chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Grease 13 x 9-inch (30 x 23 cm) baking pan.
  3. Combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup.
  4. Mix in egg and vanilla.
  5. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
  6. Spread mixture in prepared pan.
  7. Bake 20–22 minutes.
  8. Let cool. Cut into bars, and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a desired amount of nuts and raisin.
