Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 sticks (1 cup, 8 ounces, or 225 g) butter, melted
  • 3 cups flour
  • Chocolate chips (optional)
  • Oats (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sugar and melted butter.
  3. Mix in the flour until you have a thick dough.
  4. Mix in the chocolate chips and oats, if using.
  5. Shape the dough into your desired cookie shapes. Transfer to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Put the cookies in the oven. Bake until the cookies are a golden colour and are hard (probably 8–12 minutes, depending on size), and then take them out.
