Filling

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
  • ⅓ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ea. 9-inch unbaked pie shell, or single homemade pie crust
  • 1¼ cups chopped pecans

Topping

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine the cream cheese, sugar, and salt; beat until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla, beating well after each.
  4. Spoon mixture into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with pecans.
  5. Combine 3 eggs, corn syrup, remaining sugar, and vanilla; beat well.
  6. Pour this mixture over pecans.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until set.
