A fork is useful when your version makes a meaningful change while the original should remain intact.

Good reasons to fork include changing an ingredient, technique, timing, dietary approach, or the overall result. Record what changed, why you changed it, and what happened. If you only corrected a typo or clarified a direction, a normal edit and commit may be enough.
